I had started to like Boone more two episodes before they killed him, which is very clever of the writers imho. He was my nÂș1 to die, and I hated that he died, but as someone had to die, it's the best choice, if that makes sense. And like Annie, I'm very interested in seeing how this affects the rest of the characters.
I'm quite fond of Sawyer (it's the redeemable thing, can't help it), but I also like Sayid, Locke, Charlie, Claire and Kate a lot. Actually, the one I find more boring is Jack, because I feel he hasn't got a story as interesting as the others. Yeah, issues with dad bla bla, but compared to what Locke or Sayid have... The last one wasn't bad, but I was more interested in knowing what happened to Boone than Jack's love life, sorry.
Now that you have mentioned Locke. I have changed my view of him a bit. I thought he had control. That he had seen "something" (it's beautiful, he said) and was one with the island so he was becoming something of a spiritual guide, a medium, helping the others find themselves.
But after what happened in the plane... I'm not so sure. What Locke has, it can be taken from him easily, and it's obvious "the island" didn't want him to get into the plane, so they took the "gift" away.
And that's scary, because if the "gift" can be taken, what would Locke do if he's presented with a choice between it and the people? He's a man of integrity but...
