Happy Problem
Jul. 5th, 2009 01:34 pmMost of the books I ordered in the Big Finish Short Trips sale arrived shortly after I got home from MediaWest. As this was my first physical order from BF, I was concerned about the length and conditions of shipping. It does seem as though the box was greatly manhandled (it split down each side, and generally looked as though Hagrid had used it for a footstool). Fortunately, someone (Royal Mail?) noticed the deteriorating condition of the box and put it into a giant nylon sack that protected the books quite well.
It did give me a moment's pause to see a big, unmarked, white sack on my doorstep. Like most people who work or live in downtown DC, I learned a lot about mail security during the 2001 anthrax attacks, and I will admit that, before I stepped too close I did a mental run down of how many people I may have irritated in the past few years. Fortunately, most of them are more likely to use a flaming bag of dog poop than a clumsily delivered WMD.

better than biological weaponry
Now my Short Trips are stacked up next to my other new books and zines, waiting for me to take an afternoon to figure out how I'm going to find space enough for everything (I'm definitely in the market for dimensionally transcendental bookshelves, if you know where I could find some). All except for Zodiac, which I'm about half way through, and enjoying very much.
