The Deeply Humbling Act of Editing
Aug. 25th, 2013 08:49 pmI was born in the US to English-speaking parents, passed AP English, and have career involving near-constant writing. And yet every time I edit a story, I can barely get two pages in before I'm off to the Purdue OWL or grammarbook.
I'm choosing to blame this on dialogue (as opposed to, yanno, my ignorance). Stop having your characters talk to each other so much! In my opinion, there just aren't enough stories about mimes, people. Work with that. And stop interrupting each other, trailing off, and writing scenes with more than two characters in them. *headdesk*
