Fronteirs of Marketing: Capitol Chocolate
Dec. 29th, 2013 10:35 pmI love fine chocolate, so you can imagine the look of ecstasy on my face when I opened
myfieldnotes' lovely box of Christmas goodies to discover, among other delights, five bars of Hunger Games-themed chocolate.

The taste of ruthless repression.
I love Vosges chocolate* (if I'm going to spend calories on sweets, I'm reaching for the top shelf), but had no idea they'd licensed the right to make Catching Fire-themed items. The content of each bar is based on each district's industry; for example, District Four's bar is sea salt and coconut in dark chocolate.

Engineered to keep D3 scientists wired, but only affordable for the Capitol citizen.
Irony at no extra charge.
I'm not precisely sure about the tastefulness of creating District-themed luxury goods (I don't think the irony is intentional), but I'm really looking forward to tasting the chocolate.
*Try Bapchi's Caramel Toffee chocolate bar, the Blood Orange Caramel chocolate bar or, if you can find it, the Amalfi (buttery white chocolate, pink peppercorns and lemon zest).
