The second season of Sherlock has rekindled my passion for the fic. I've found a few favorites among the many that have been posted, including a shocking number from the meme:

It's Going to Take a Lot to Drag Me Away From You by Anonymous: After BELG, Sherlock thinks Mycroft is refusing to return his calls because he's sulking over Bond Air. In fact, as Irene noted, everyone answers to someone and Mycroft is answering for the failure of the project. But with the timely intervention of a beloved enemy, Sherlock and John find a way to beat the spooks at their own game. So incredibly well written, chock full of creative descriptions, clever plotting and rich character moments. Physical and emotional h/c, loyalty, sacrifice; it's everything I want in a fic.

A Thousand Apologies by Anonymous: Post-FALL, Sherlock has destroyed Moriarty's network and can finally come home. Tears, hugs, punches in the face. Everything I wanted from a reunion fic. Short but satisfying.

A Guilty Man by Starjenni: "'Well congratulations, it worked, I have nothing left and because of that you have once more become necessary to me. Now you can control me as much as you like.' He stands up and puts his hands on the armrests of Mycroft's chair, leaning forward so closely that Mycroft can see every nuance of rage in his eyes. 'I hope you're happy,' he hisses, and then stands up again abruptly, walking out of the room. Mycroft sits by the fire for a long while, until the trembling stops." Sherlock is forced to go to Mycroft for help, despite blaming him for letting Moriarty trap him. Sherlock has learned so much from John; is forgiveness among those lessons? Angsty, painful take on Mycroft and Sherlock's relationship after FALL, but with a sweet, believable ending.

Alight by Anonymous: After BELG, Sherlock wrestles with unwanted emotional encumbrances. A beautiful take on the human need for forgiveness.

Chalk Marks Show Up on a Few High Windows by Sarah T.: "I can't keep doing this on my own." Post-FALL, Sherlock is in hiding, trying to track down Moriarty's network, but it's lonely work. An angsty, harsh look at the reality of life on the run, but with a hopeful (though still complicated) resolution.
