Yeeeeeah it looks like they're sticking with spear as primary a lot more than I would have for Brutus, probably because he only has a couple things in canon so they're kinda blowing them out of proportion? I have him as sword primarily with spear as range, but like you said, he would nooot be primarily ranged, not with that build. It would be a huge waste - you give range to someone like Marvel who's not built as impressively, etc.
