Date: 2016-07-21 02:48 am (UTC)Not before the war. Eibhlin is pretty neat, in general, but she doesn't have to do, or particularly enjoy doing, anything the same each time (which different than some of her classmates, many of whom had particularized rituals, either because they were aspy or superstitious about testing). She'll do things efficiently which might involve in many cases performing a task in a similar manner. The closest thing is probably the tea making?
After the war she has some difficulties with distractions/keeping a schedule, so Beetee revamps the tracking bracelet he invented for Wiress (who I imagine has had those issues to some degree most of her life, and it became almost unmanageable after her arena). Beetee/the bracelet put her back on a schedule that she pretty much keeps to (which probably still doesn't count as a ritual, but, well...). The closest thing I can think of is Sunday evenings, which eventually become a kind of 'extended family dinner' thing, with her new 'blended family'.
8. Favorite indulgence and feelings surrounding indulging
Eibhlin's feelings about indulgence aren't as complicated as any of the other Threes; she had a privileged (for Three) life through most of her upbringing, with scientist parents, all the benefits that accrue to children who test Alpha, and then attending the science academy. She started having a bit of a tough time around 14-5 when she started to feel some distraction around one of 17s on the Blue Team; she knew she was 1) not old enough to hold his attention and 2) not supposed to be blanking out during collaboration sessions just because he'd rolled up his sleeves and was displaying tantalizing expanses of wrist and forearm... If she hadn't been reaped, that might have been an indulgence she became conflicted over.
Post-reaping, Eibhlin's favorite indulgences are of the scientific variety: expensive or hazardous chemicals, lines of research that are fascinating but not particularly remunerative, etc (I think all the Threes could spend a *lot* of their stipends, without thinking, on MOAR SCIENCE). She also likes ice cream and candy, so it's generally always in the apartment somewhere.
22. Given a blank piece of paper, a pencil, and nothing to do, what would happen?
HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH Eibhlin doesn't need to be given something to do. Her brain will feed her idea after idea. She might work on her latest formula, scratch out a design for a project, or if she's in a more whimsical mood, start composing something. If her brain is giving her too many ideas, she'll core-dump them in hasty notes, for later.
33. Concept of home and family?
Whew, a bit complicated. Eibhlin's parents died when she was six or seven. Until eleven she lived in the peacehome of the central sector, which was a decent place but didn't give her any kind of substitute family (and, er, her personality doesn't help much). The academy makes it a lot easier for her, being with people who have similar or complimentary personalities, assigned to a team that lives together and has structured activities together. She adapts pretty quickly to the idea of a family built on common interests and skills, rather than blood.
Her level of comfort with a 'found family' makes the transition to her post-arena life more smooth than it might otherwise have been (it also helps that Lumina and Beetee make sure she knows what to expect after she wins, so there's less disappointment when her former family are nowhere to be found). For Eibhlin, family is a matter of choice, and home is where those people are.

Date: 2016-07-22 03:27 am (UTC)Eib's parents were chemists for one the major heavy industry companies in Three. They, along with most of their scientist colleagues, the laborers, and their children in the on-site daycare, were killed in a massive explosion and the resulting fire (due to what everyone knows was the insistence of the Capitol in cutting corners on safety to reach certain production targets, but is only reported as a 'tragic accident'). The incident is still remembered, decades later, as the [Namehere] Industries disaster. Unfortunately, it's not the only incident--there's a constant push-pull between Three and the Capitol on safety v. speed.
